About Taylor Ellwood

I have worked as an adjunct professor in academia, a technical writer and editor for several Fortune 500 companies, and a managing Non-Fiction editor for a small press. Additionally, I run several small businesses, including Imagine Your Reality Coaching.

I became a life coach because I was dissatisfied with working for large companies and wanted to put my skills services to work for clients who either want to start their own business or want a better career than the one they have. I also help my clients integrate their spiritual and creative values into the business or work they do.

I am a member of the Northwest Coaching Association, The Eco-Business Network, I take the Lead Networking Group and I regularly attend the Young Professionals of Portland and Vancouver networking meetings. I am also a Preferred Provider for SECP (http://www.secppdx.com).

To my life coaching practice I bring:

Over fifteen years of experience in meditation and hypnosis, which I use to help my clients hone in on what could be blocking them from success. I also have Whole Person Design Life Coach certification from the Baraka Institute and Certification as a Hypnotist from the Hypnosis Motivation Institute. As a life coach, I bring trainings, skills, and a desire to help my clients achieve success in their business, careers, or creative goals.

A diverse range of experience in professional careers. I have worked in corporations as a technical writer, as an adjunct professor in academia, and helped run three different small businesses. I have helped a small press grow its non-fiction line, while developing a marketing plan that has made it a competitor for larger publishers in the same market. I know what it’s like to work in a career that doesn’t satisfy the values a person has. I also have a keen appreciation of the different challenges a person can face in the workplace, having navigated those same challenges on my own. I can help with personal development, cost control, and the bottom line that you need to achieve.

My educational background gives me over fifteen years of experience in communication. I have both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English as well as certification as a life coach. I’m also dedicated to self-improvement. When I’m not writing, coaching, or working on another creative project, I’m learning about neuro-science, NLP, cultural studies, metaphysics, and other disciplines, all of which provide me with more tools to help you achieve success!

My creativity as a painter and published author gives me insight into the creative processes. I’ve also managed and worked with other authors and editors, which allows me to understand the unique challenges that face creatives who are trying to market their art and writing.

What sets Taylor apart from other life coaches?

Professional training through the Baraka Institute. I bring to a combination of coaching and NLP techniques to the coaching sessions, along with meditation techniques I’ve learned over the last sixteen years. All of these skills are put at your disposal to help you manifest your ideal career or the marketing plan to build your business.

I’ve been in your situation and I’ve worked with people in your situation. Between my own work experience and my life coaching experience, I’ve probably worked with someone in your situation or been in a similar situation myself.

Depth of knowledge. Whether it relates to running a small business, writing a book, working in a corporate career, or in an academic institution, I have experiences in many different areas of life. Those different experiences have given me insight into the the different challenges that you can face in your career or in running your own business.
